My Phlebotomy instructor Kim was instrumental in my success as a Phlebotomy technician. The class was in-depth and informative and helped with my success to achieve my NHA (CPT) Certification.

My EKG instructor Michelle was the best instructor I have ever has she made the technical side of the EKG easier to understand and helped me prepare for my new position with Centura Health as a telemetry Tech.

I have recommended Aplmed Academy to some of my colleagues and they too have had great success with furthering their careers in the medical field.

Course: Phlebotomy

Instructor: Mary Cabrera

I enrolled at APL Med Academy in January of 2015 and completed the program in April of 2015. The hours worked great with my work schedule. Our instructor had us sticking by the second day, I was glad to get started sticking right away because no time was wasted on making sure we got all of our sticks. As they say, practice makes perfect. Mary even volunteered her own veins! She was very supportive of the entire process. She also helped me finish the course with her night class so I could get my sticks in. It’s nice to have someone willing to work with you and your situation. Following the completion of the program a few months later I landed a job as a Phlebotomist at Bonfils Blood Center. I am now working at a plasma center, but I enjoy what I do and I am so thankful to have been a graduate of APL Med Academy!

Name: Denise Popish. Year: 2014

Course: Phlebotomy

Instructor:  Morgan

APLMED changed my life. Their phlebotomy program gave me the tools I needed to enter into a very successful career with one of the largest hospitals in Denver.

The program was fast and detailed. And the class was small enough to afford us enough one on one time in the lab portion.

I always highly recommended AlpMed.

Name: Zane. Year: 2013

Course: CNA

The program was very straightforward and focused on CNA skills and critical thinking. It was helpful in passing the board exam for CNAs with a high score. The instructors are very knowledgeable and helpful with all your needs. They explained and taught all the needed materials and skills for your future job in easy and understandable ways. Also, they were very friendly and treated you as if you are a family without any judgmental attitude. Moreover, the cost of the program was reasonably affordable.

If you want to be successful in your career and pass the CNA board exam don’t hesitate and start your future with APLMED Academy.

My instructor: Kelly Maccalla “the best ” I thought I never gonna make it in so little time to learn a lot about PHLEBOTOMY and he made it possible, also where I did my internship they were letting me do almost every blood work because they said I was doing pretty good .. I wouldn’t make it without Mr. Maccalla he teach me and also gave me the confidence I needed it to succeed …  Thank You!!!

“The 9 Health Fair relies heavily on its volunteers and your students add to our ability to get participants through quickly without a long wait time. Please extend a huge thanks to your staff who participated…. Blood draws are the number of onething participants do at the Health Fairs.”

Deb Garrod, Medical Coordinator, ACC, June 2012

“The APLMED phlebotomy training course met all my expectations for preparing me for a career as a phlebotomist. It was succinct and got right to the core of the phlebotomy principles needed to learn. I feel prepared for working in a laboratory. I was happy that they allowed me to join a class at the last minute. I really appreciated Ryan’s style of teaching. He gave lessons specific to what we needed to know. He suggested we make small cards with the pertinent data we needed to remember. His disciplined approach set expectations that the students needed to memorize the material. This prepared us to take the final exam and face any interview that we would have in the future. Also, Ryan’s guidance and encouragement helped everyone become comfortable with sticking people. We had lots of opportunities to practice on each other so our confidence grew each week. Ryan was also an entertaining instructor with quips and funny stories that made the material even more interesting. Thanks ever so much,”

“My name is Patty Westbrook. I worked in the medical field as a medical assistant 12 years ago and am 53 years old. Unemployed and want to refresh and gain current experience in the medical field I chose APLMED Academy to do so. Why, because my first call and experience with Natasha, who is the office manager and externship coordinator for APLMED Academy, was instantly warm and inviting. She was very helpful and encouraging. She explained how the classes were small (8 students in each class) and how APLMED Academy could help me gain the experience I needed. I started classes in March and ended in May. My instructor, Ryan, had worked as a phlebotomist for 8 years and brought a lot of knowledge, experience, and personality to the class. I enjoyed learning and he made it easy to understand, bringing real-life stories of his working experience with patients, hospitals, and clinics. He made sure we understood the material and was available after class and via email regarding any questions we may have. I passed my final written and practical and starting clinical at Boulder Community Hospital Out-patient. I planned to take the nationals as well to enhance placement in the job market. At 53 I wasn’t sure I could do it, but APLMED Academy made it easy for me. I would recommend APLMED Academy to anyone wanting a career in the medical field. They are great people to work with and make learning fun and easy! Thank you so much for your support and for making your program available to people like me.”

“I really enjoyed taking the phlebotomy course at APLMED Academy. The instructor was very knowledgeable and I felt confident I could successfully draw blood at the end of 8 weeks. I was quickly placed in an externship at the CMC laboratory and it was a great learning experience! The staff was very supportive and happy to have a student. I truly feel ready to start a career as a phlebotomist! Thanks, APLMED Academy!”

Sincerely,

“This is to thank the entire staff of APLMED Academy for the great work that you did to make me successful while I was doing my externship. In particular, I thank Ryan for a Great Job. He made sure he teaches us the greatest techniques of getting to know those veins and other alternates to satisfy the patient without going through so much pain. Thank you so much Ryan, my work was liked so much when I did my externship, but it’s all because of Ryan’s effort, and the entire staff of APLMED Academy. Thank you. I would definitely recommend someone who is looking for a school for phlebotomy techniques. Thanks.

“This class has been fun. I really enjoyed the interaction that we had in class. Having you walk us through everything. It made sticking easier having someone there to tell us what we were doing wrong. I also enjoyed the opportunity [to] interact with more than one person to get a different point of view on how to do things. Taking tests and quizzes were also a good way to learn the information and to make sure we were learning it.”

“I have enjoyed this training I took, the hours are short and the materials studies are very focused. The instructor was knowledgeable and very patient with all.”

“I thought the instructor made the class very “Real World” which for us older students is a very good thing.”

“I have enjoyed this class from day one! These two months flew by so fast and I am very glad I signed up for it. I enjoyed the class a lot and was even always motivated to study. I like the way we would go over worksheets with the answer and were able to take them home to study, which helped me make good note-cards, and it helped me to study knowing I had the correct information.I have no bad comments towards anything, the teaching skills, and the environment, are both very comforting. I like the way we learned so much, even things that suit other careers as well.I wouldn’t want [anything] to change about the class. I think it is all organized and perfect way to learn, including practicing with the equipment. I like the way we had the option to go to and practice. That shows you guys care about us students, and don’t just see it as teaching but also as helping, and wanting us to succeed. Thank you!

Carmen Giselle. A.

“Dear AplMed Academy,

I liked how the class was straightforward and direct. You told us exactly what we needed to know and a lot of useful things. ”
